Although we had Christmas and New Years since our last update, the committee has been hard at work. A couple of us had the chance to meet with the SCC staff to get their valued input in regard to the character and qualities they would like to see in our next Lead Pastor. As a committee, we felt very encouraged by these conversations and for their feedback to help us in our process.
Along with these staff discussions we also edited and rewrote the Lead Pastor job description and put together a Church Profile which gives candidates an overview of Shuswap Community Church and general information on Salmon Arm and the surrounding Shuswap. These are available on our website. Also, if you have a person in mind that fits the job description, we would encourage you to prayerfully consider them, and suggest to them that they take a look at the posting.
We will also be posting the SCC Lead Pastor job description on the Fellowship Pacific website (https://fellowshippacific.ca), the National website for the Fellowship of Evangelical Baptist Churches (https://www.fellowship.ca), and on the Commons, which is a social network platform for Fellowship Pacific (https://atthecommons.ca)
The committee continues to ask for your prayers throughout this process. There will be much more work to be done as we get the job officially posted and applications start to come in. We will not be waiting to gather a pile of applications but will start processing each application as soon as they come in.
