Dear Shuswap Community Church:
Today I am announcing my resignation as the Lead Pastor of SCC effective December 31st. Kirstin and I have been praying, thinking and discerning our future since this past June, coming to believe that Jesus is leading us into a different season of ministry, during which time we have had discussions with a few churches who are searching for pastors. Though we’re not quite ready to announce where we will go, it is our belief that this timing allows SCC to begin to transition leadership in a time when the church is strong.
Lately, I have been encouraged by the health that currently exists here. There is unity and joy, and it’s been awesome worshiping with you. SCC has amazing staff, loving elders, committed board, and I consider myself blessed to have partnered with them over the past (almost) 16 years. I am confident that they will lead you well in the years to come.
Your encouragement, support and prayers have made the ministry a personal blessing and SCC will always be a special place to us. Salmon Arm will never stop being our kids hometown, and SCC their church family. Thank you for making them feel safe and loved.
We look forward to celebrating one last Christmas with all of you, resting in the gracious presence of Christ demonstrated in His coming and guaranteed in the gospel.
